Climate disruption threatens every aspect of life in Iowa. Changing weather patterns affect our way of life, not just in Iowa but around the globe. Our Iowa scientists tell us these extreme events will become more commonplace. The science debate is over. Now is the time for action.
We are already seeing extreme weather events cause billions in damage to Iowa’s environment. The rising cost of storm response threatens our economy and threatens our ability to provide for the people of Iowa. We must focus on solutions and act to protect future generations. I am committed to acting now on behalf of our children and our grandchildren.
Iowa also has some of the most polluted waterways in the country. We need to act now to clean them up. Rural and urban, we all share in the responsibility to do our part on behalf of water quality. Our topsoil is our most precious resource. We must act to prevent that resource from washing away.
